About Suno

Suno generates complete songs from a text prompt. Vocals, instruments and song structure arrive together, rather than a backing loop you then have to build something on top of.

The core interaction is simple: describe what you want and Suno produces a finished track. From there the tools are for shaping rather than starting again. You can add new vocals or instrumental parts to an existing song, remix a track into a different version, and use the editing features to fine-tune what came back instead of regenerating and hoping. Songs can be generated using your own voice recordings, and versions can be tuned against personal audio samples, so the output can be steered toward a particular sound rather than left to chance.

Suno Studio is the heavier editing environment and accepts uploads of up to 30 minutes of audio, which makes it usable for working on material that did not start inside Suno at all.

Pricing works on credits. The Pro plan is 8 dollars a month and includes 2,500 credits; the Premier plan is 24 dollars a month and includes 10,000. Credits refresh monthly and do not carry over, either between days or between months, so the plan is best read as a monthly allowance rather than a balance that accumulates. Top-up credits bought separately behave differently: they do not expire, but an active subscription is needed to spend them. Paid plans also carry a download limit, 20 songs a month on Pro and 60 on Premier, and paid users get a priority queue so tracks come back faster when the service is busy.

Songs made on a paid plan come with commercial use rights, which is the practical difference between using Suno for demos and using it for work that ships. There is a free tier for trying the model before paying.

It is aimed at two groups that rarely share a tool: people making music for the first time who have an idea and no instrument, and people who already make music and want to move faster through the parts of the process that are mechanical.
