What money still cannot buy

This list used to be longer. We sell dofollow links now and say so on /link-policy. A page that keeps denying something it does does more damage than the sale ever could. What is left is what is still true.

Where you rank

The formula is published at /how-ranking-works, and CI fails the build if the ranking code can even import the payments code.

Votes

One per account, one per launch. Buying them gets the listing removed.

An award badge

Top three in a weekly launch, and nothing else. Listing badges ship with paid tiers and say so on their face. The two are drawn differently for exactly this reason.

A review, or the removal of one

Reviews come from real users with real text. We will not delete a fair bad one, at any price.

Reaching our readers, not listing a tool?

Sponsor slot, $49 a week. Category spotlight, $99 a week. Every one is labelled Sponsored and carries rel="sponsored nofollow", at any price.

Questions people actually ask

Why cap the free slots at 20 a week?
Because the cap is what makes a slot worth anything. A directory that publishes everything is a list nobody reads, and an archive nobody reads ranks for nothing. When a week fills, you are offered the next one with room. Premium is not capped. It is not competing for the same space.
What exactly is the widget the free tier requires?
A small badge you paste into your footer or your about page. It links back to your listing. We check for the link, not the image, a copied graphic with no link does not count. If it comes down later your listing stays live and indexed; you lose the dofollow and the Verified mark, and we email you first.
Do you sell dofollow links?
Yes, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Paid tiers include one. It is granted by an editor when your listing is approved, never by the payment itself, and it is revoked if the listing stops being accurate. The full reasoning, including the risk we are taking, is on /link-policy.
Does paying move me up the leaderboard?
No, and this is the one thing that is structurally enforced rather than promised. The ranking module cannot import the payments module, CI fails the build if it does. Paying buys placement, speed and a link. It does not buy ranked order.
Does a paid submission wait for review?
No. It publishes the moment the payment clears. Paying is the check that a queue used to be, and a launch you paid to schedule is no use to you if it sits behind somebody else reading it. If we later take a paid listing down for breaking the rules, you get the $19 back in full.
Is there anything to cancel?
No. There is no subscription here and there never was one to cancel. Premium is a single $19 payment for a single launch, and the listing it buys is permanent, along with its rank history and any badges it wins.
Which currency, and who invoices me?
Everything is priced in USD. A merchant of record collects GST or VAT where it applies and issues the invoice, so you get a compliant document in your own jurisdiction. Your bank may convert.
Can I pay to have a competitor removed?
No. That question has never had a price and never will.
