About Runway
Runway is a set of generative video, image and audio tools that run in the browser. Alongside them it offers a developer API and a robotics product built on a general world model.
Work across the browser tools is paid for in credits, and the four self serve tiers differ mainly in how many credits they include and what they allow at output. The free plan grants 125 credits as a one time allowance that do not expire, plus 5GB of asset storage, but it leaves watermarks in place and does not include 4K upscaling. Standard costs $15 per month, or $12 on yearly billing (a saving of $36 a year), includes 625 credits a month, removes watermarks and adds 4K upscaling. Pro is $35 per month or $28 yearly, with 2,250 credits a month, 500GB of asset storage and custom voices for lip sync and text to speech. Max is $95 per month or $76 yearly, with 9,500 credits a month, studio formats such as ProRes and image sequences, and HDR output at up to 16 bit.
Credit handling differs by plan. Monthly plan credits do not roll over on Standard or Pro. Max is the only self serve plan where unused monthly credits carry over, and they carry over for one month only. Extra credits are bought in blocks with a minimum purchase of 1,000, and purchased credits never expire.

The developer API is a separate product with its own endpoints for text to image, image to video and video to video generation, and its own published rates. One credit costs $0.01. Gen-4 Image costs 5 credits per image at 720p and 8 credits at 1080p. Gen-4 Turbo video costs 5 credits per second of output and Gen-4.5 video costs 12 credits per second, so a longer clip costs proportionally more. Upscaling an image costs 25 credits.
The Enterprise plan is quoted individually and adds single sign on, workspace analytics and configurable teamspaces.
