About Warp
Warp is a terminal application for macOS, Windows and Linux with an AI agent built into the session. It runs bash, zsh, fish and PowerShell, loading zsh by default on macOS, PowerShell on Windows and bash on Linux, and it requires fish 3.6 or above and PowerShell 7.0 or above. It does not support the Windows Command Prompt. Builds cover macOS 10.14 and above, Windows 10 and 11 in x64 and ARM64, and Linux via deb, rpm, tar.zst and AppImage packages. The client itself is open source under the AGPL v3 licence.
Beyond the shell, Warp bundles a code editor with LSP support and a code review panel, and Warp Drive stores reusable notebooks, workflows, prompts and environment variables. Secrets can be redacted from the terminal using custom regular expressions, and there are integrations with 1Password and LastPass. The AI side offers Claude Sonnet and Opus, GPT and Gemini Pro models, and sessions can also host third-party coding agents including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Opencode and Gemini CLI. Warp is SOC 2 compliant and enforces zero data retention with its LLM providers.
Paid use is metered in credits. One credit is a unit of work that scales with the tokens processed, every agent interaction consumes at least one, and usage is tracked across three buckets, AI credits, compute credits and platform credits, all drawn from a single balance. Add-on credits are sold at 400 for 10 USD, 1,000 for 20 USD, 3,000 for 50 USD and 6,500 for 100 USD. They roll over between billing cycles and stay valid for 12 months from purchase. Auto-reload triggers when the balance falls to 100 credits, and the default monthly spending cap is 200 USD, which can be adjusted.
The Free plan costs nothing and includes no bundled agent credits. Build is 20 USD a month billed monthly or 18 USD billed annually, and includes 1,500 credits a month. Max is 200 USD a month billed monthly or 180 USD annually, with 18,000 credits. Business is 50 USD per user a month, or 45 USD annually, with 1,500 credits a seat, a 25 seat limit, SAML single sign-on, team usage metrics, admin data controls and bring-your-own API keys. Enterprise is priced individually with unlimited seats and shared credit pools. Annual billing is 10% cheaper than monthly across the paid plans. A monthly subscription is fully refundable if cancelled within 24 hours of the charge and an annual one within 15 days, in both cases only if no credits have been used.
